Another center of CSA's social circle during the "Golden Era" was Jake Cohn. A dynamic personality, Jake was a key part of the CSA program both on and off the field. Even when injured, Jake contributed. Whether he was the on the field cameraman at the Five-Star Challenge, or conducting interviews at Happy Hours and Melting Pot drafts, Jake's contributions were limitless. His "Two words or less" interviews were so amusing we dedicated an entire segment to them in the 2002 Tribute Video and the "interviews" that he and Karen Huber conducted at the Melting Pot draft were hilarious.
On the field Jake was a sought after QB in the co-ed flag football leagues and an excellent pitcher in the co-ed softball leagues. Among the numerous teams he played with, Jake was the first player voted off during the Winter 2003 "Survivors/Outcasts" team, and he joined the Independents when they won their final co-ed softball championship. Jake played with Glen Walker and The Old-Timers in the Spring 2009 Co-ed Flag Football league, and the team went undefeated and won the championship, and came back to the CSA softball program with Cypress St. Pint & Plate the last two years.
Jake has been a flag football referee, officiating 100 games [22nd all-time]. He participated in three Melting Pot tournaments (2, 3, and 4), two SoftballFests, Rage in the Cage Dodgeball Challenge, Camp CSA, and was an referee at the Memorial Melting Pot on January 28, 2012 .
When CSA announced the Top Ten list for 2003, Jake was selected #2.
